Piers

Reliable foundation for piers with predictable load-bearing capacity and stable geometry in the aquatic environment. Screw foundations provide an engineering-based solution for piers in coastal and shallow water areas—without concrete work, dewatering of the water area, or lengthy technological downtime.

Engineering design of screw pile foundations considering geology and hydrogeological conditions, design loads, and project requirements. We select the type, diameter, and depth of geoscrews for stable foundation performance under variable water level conditions.
In-house production of geoscrews with quality control at every stage—from steel selection to anti-corrosion protection. Foundations are designed for operation in aquatic environments and meet durability requirements for hydraulic structures and operating conditions.
Professional installation of geoscrews with control of vertical alignment, torque, and foundation field geometry. Installation is carried out without concrete work or dewatering of the water area, allowing piers to be implemented in tight deadlines with minimal environmental impact.

SCREW FOUNDATION FOR PIERS

Pier

An open-type hydraulic structure designed for water access, mooring of small vessels, recreational or service use. The foundation must ensure stability, uniform load transfer, and durability in conditions of constant water contact.

Piles for piers

Screw piles are driven to load-bearing soil layers below the bottom level, ensuring reliable fixation of the pier deck and supports. The absence of concrete work allows foundations to be implemented in shallow water areas without extensive preparatory works.

Engineering approach

The foundation for a pier is designed considering loads from the deck, people, small vessels, wave and current effects, as well as the actual bottom soil conditions.

Structural solution

The screw foundation allows for the formation of a lightweight pier support system with precise geometry and enables phased installation of the structure without technological downtime.

Advantages of screw pile foundations for piers

The screw pile foundation is an optimal solution for piers due to its stable performance in the aquatic environment and ease of implementation.
Pile installation does not require lowering the water level or constructing temporary hydraulic structures.
The absence of earthworks preserves the natural condition of the coastal zone.
Piles are designed considering variable hydrodynamic loads.
The pier can be commissioned immediately upon completion of the foundation installation.
Screw piles are not subject to seasonal limitations typical of concrete works.

Geology and structural design

For proper foundation design, geotechnical engineering surveys and structural design analysis are performed. This allows for determining the design loads, soil behavior conditions, the depth of load-bearing soil layers, and the geometric requirements of the foundation system.

Structure-specific foundation adaptation

Based on the obtained data, PILLAR engineers calculate the number of supports, their spacing, and the installation depth. The parameters of the geoscrews are selected considering the loads, structure type, and required geometric stability of the foundation.

Installation and construction readiness

Screw piles are installed with control of vertical alignment, torque, and foundation field geometry. Upon completion, the foundation is immediately ready for further structure erection—with no technological downtime or waiting for shrinkage.
